We are happy to offer Black Copper Marans chicks for the first time! These will consist of both the Speckled Black Copper Marans line and our regular dark-focused Black Copper Marans line. These are straight run, meaning they are unsexed. We will start hatching late March through September. These chicks will be mailed first come, first served. We will go down the list and make sure you’re ready to receive. These are shipped 2-3 day express. 

We will contact you prior to shipping to make sure you’re ready to receive. 

There is a minimum of 6 chicks for shipping. If you order less than 6, we will email you. If you do not want six, we will refund you minus the credit card fees. Shipping cost is included in pricing — includes gro-gel, crumble, cut up vegetables/fruits, 72 hour heat pack.

📦 Shipping & Liability

Once your chicks are transferred to the United States Postal Service (USPS), responsibility for their delivery passes to the buyer. We cannot control USPS handling practices, potential delays, or weather-related issues once the package is in transit.

All shipments are insured for the full purchase amount. If chicks arrive deceased or are lost in transit, the buyer must file a claim directly with USPS for reimbursement. The tracking number provided on your order is all that USPS requires to begin the claims process.

📝 How to File a USPS Claim

If any chicks arrive deceased, please follow these steps to help support your USPS insurance claim:

  1. Take clear photos immediately, including:

    • The deceased chicks

    • The exterior and interior of the shipping box

    • Any visible damage or signs of mishandling

  2. Save all original packaging. Do not throw away the box or packing materials, as USPS may request to see them.

  3. If possible, visit your local post office in person. Bring the box and deceased chicks to initiate the claim directly.

We will assist you by providing any documentation needed—such as tracking details or a copy of the shipping receipt—but the claim must be filed by the buyer.

  • Orders are hatched specifically for each customer; therefore all refunds are limited to 50% reimbursement.

  • All purchases are considered pre-orders. You will receive an email notification when your order moves into the hatching queue.

  • USPS guarantees shipping timelines based on the date on your receipt; any delays must be addressed through their claims system.
