Box o' Chocolates

from $45.00
sold out

CURRENTLY SOLD OUT, WE WILL BE RESTOCKING - Join Our Email List for First Dibs!

Our Chocolate Eggers are a thoughtfully bred mix designed to produce rich, dark brown eggs—some with stunning speckles and both glossy and matte finishes. With genetics rooted in heritage breeds like Black Copper Marans, Welsummers, and Penedesencas, these birds bring beauty and depth to your egg basket.

This variety will include a variety of chocolate shades, including our darkest layers. The chicks will hatch black, partridge or greyish tan.

Not only do they lay chocolate-colored eggs that stand out in any dozen, but they’re also hardy, alert, and thrive in free-range environments. Whether you’re building a rainbow egg basket or focusing on rare shell color, our Chocolate Eggers are a reliable and eye-catching addition to any flock. Our “milk chocolate eggers” are crossed back to a dark egg gene rooster, so the offspring will lay darker than the color depicted. You will receive a variety, not all eggs will be the same shade of chocolate.

Our chocolate eggers are laying approximately 4 to 5 large, dark brown eggs per week. Each egg weighs around 45 grams. These hens typically reach their point of lay between 22 to 24 weeks of age and are considered hardy in all climates.

Current Shipping Times: Please give us 3-8 weeks to fulfill these orders. Nature is nature and sometimes things come up. Please be patient with us! Updated April 27, 2025.

📦 Return & Refund Policy – Hatching Eggs

Due to the nature of hatching eggs, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds once your order has been shipped. However, we guarantee that all eggs are fresh and fertile at the time of shipping. We do not replace or refund broken eggs, please file a claim with USPS.

Fertility is regularly monitored from each breeding pen to ensure roosters are actively doing their job. That said, once eggs are handed off to USPS, we are no longer responsible for their handling, delays, or damage. Standard shipping is via USPS Priority Mail (1–3 days) and includes $100 of insurance (shipping fees are not covered under this insurance).

If your package arrives damaged, please:

  • Take clear photos of the box, packaging, and any broken eggs

Inspect your package immediately upon pickup

  • File a damage claim with USPS online (damage only, not shipping delays)

Please remember: Hatching eggs are always a gamble. We cannot guarantee hatch rates or how USPS handles the eggs during transit.

If we are unable to fulfill your order for any reason on our end, you will receive a refund. For any concerns, feel free to contact us via email or Facebook.
